About Hannah Russell Sarcoma Awareness
Our mission is to help raise awareness for Sarcoma UK
In 2020 Hannah Russell was diagnosed with Sarcoma cancer, every day 15 people in the UK are diagnosed with Sarcoma, Hannah was one of them 15 people. Sarcoma is a cancer that can develop anywhere in the body, including muscles, bones, tendons, tissues and blood vessels.
Over the course of 4-6 months Hannah developed a pain in her right hip, initially she put it down to a joint paint from an old injury, as she has worn discs in her back due to an old accident, the pain started to get worse and worse and she also became increasingly more tired so decided to contact her doctors and was sent for a series of scans and tests. Not long after she found out she has a high-grade sarcoma tumour just about the hip.
Not long after she had surgery to remove the tumour and had a series of radiotherapy to destroy any remaining cancer cells left behind along with medicines.
Hannah now wants to go on and raise awareness for Sarcoma, if more people knew what it was, they would get the lumps checked out earlier, the earlier Sarcoma is diagnosed, the greater the chance of successful treatment.
Hannah feels so lucky to have been able to get diagnosed at such an early stage, thousands of people don’t and every four minutes someone in the UK dies from cancer, one day there will be a cure, for now cancer may have chosen the fight but we will help finish it.
100% of the profits raised from the clothing goes to Sarcoma UK.
